Welcome to Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

Hello! My name is Mrs Evans and I am delighted to be the new Year Two teacher. It has been fantastic getting to know the children and see each one of them rising to the challenges, I cannot wait to see them develop and grow! We also have Miss Pepper helping us with our learning. As a class we are aiming to be the best we can be, by working hard and being kind.

Y2 Homework

Homework will be given out on Thursdays and should be returned no later than the following Tuesday. Homework will usually include English and Maths tasks which link to the work done in school that week. In addition, children will be given spellings to learn. Spelling tests will take place on Fridays each week.

Homework is given to help your child’s learning and they will need adult support and encouragement. It is important that this is completed every week as the work revisits and consolidates previous work. If they have any problems, they must come and speak to one of the Year 2 team and we will go through it with them.

Reading at home plays a vital role in developing your child’s learning and can have a massive impact on their progress in school. Your child will bring home a book matched to their reading level and should be encouraged to talk about what is happening in the story and to make predictions as well as reading aloud. Each read should be written in their diaries to support their progress towards reading certificates awards.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Times table rock stars!

Let's see you all rocking your times tables!!

All the children have been giving a login to times table rock stars, this supports the children with the multiplication and division. The more practicing you do, the better chance of getting a certificate in assembly on Friday!
