Reading Books

It is essential that children continue to read every day at home.

At Birklands, we place a high-level of importance upon reading, having invested a significant amount of money in to resourcing this subject over recent years. In order to our maintain standards in this area of the curriculum, we have purchased a whole-school online subscription to the Rising Stars reading scheme. This means that during this period of remote learning, your child will still be able to have access to the wonderful range of fiction and non-fiction texts that are normally available to them in school.

Once you child has logged in, they will be able to access the books that have been assigned to them. At the end of each book there is a quiz and a list of questions that you can ask your child to help develop their understanding of the text.
