Chinese New Year
We have had a fantastic week celebrating Chinese New Year! All of our provision has been linked to the book 'The Great Race', which is the story of the Chinese Zodiac. On Friday, we had our own Chinese New Year celebrations which included: designing a money wallet for a friend, creating decorations, tasting and trying Chinese Food, presenting a friend with their money wallet and practising some Chinese New Year dancing. We had a wonderful time celebrating.
BeatFeet
This half-term, we had a 'West African Drumming' workshop delivered by BeatFeet. We loved learning about the West African Drums, which are called Djembes, and learnt many different rhythms and tones. We practised these whilst performing familiar songs, and loved using the props to help us.
Autumn 2
We have been very busy this half-term. We have made decorations for our Christmas Tree, enjoyed 'Christmas Dinner day' in our Christmas jumpers and party hats. The children talked about what makes a great Christmas Dinner and shared some of their experiences from home.
We have had our class Christmas Party which involved lots of dancing and party food. We played lots of different games; well done to the children who won the prizes!
And of course, we got to meet Santa! What a lovely experience; the children were so polite and a credit to you all. Click here to see our learning and Nativity pictures from Autumn 2.

Learning Through Play
Colour Mixing
The children had a great time making new colours. The children chose a colour and mixed the paint with a friend using their hands.
European Languages Day
Here we are celebrating European Languages Day by learning about Switzerland! We found out lots of interesting facts and even got to taste lots of yummy food.
Fruit Kebas
To support our learning on patterns, we made fruit kebabs!
Smoothies
We chose ingredients to make smoothies on a smoothie bike. We chose grapes, strawberries, blueberries, melon, pineapple, oranges and apple juice. Miss Ward, Miss Stretton and Miss Lounds all went on the bike to blend all the ingredients together. The smoothies were DELICIOUS.
