~ 6th March 2026 ~

School has been its usual busy self recently, and as always, there is so much for us to be proud of. From the wonderful learning taking place across classes, to the way our pupils continue to support and celebrate one another, it’s a joy to see our school community thriving.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming families to our Mothers’ Day Afternoon Teas next week; these events are always a highlight of the spring term and offer a lovely opportunity for children to share something special with the important women in their lives.

Today, school has been awash with fun and frivolity as we celebrated World Book Day. From Wallies to Minions, Oompa Loompas to Wonka and MC Grammar to Captain Underpants, the corridors have been filled with colour, creativity and characters from every corner of the literary world. The children - and staff - threw themselves wholeheartedly into the spirit of the day, enjoying a wonderfully book‑themed celebration.

Take a look at the dedicated section below for some of the highlights!

Wishing you all a restful weekend.

Miss Watson

The children have enjoyed a full day of book‑related activities, beginning with a whole‑school Drop Everything and Read session between 9:00am and 9:30am. They went on to take part in scavenger hunts and a fun “Guess the Owner of the Bookshelf” competition, all of which added to the excitement of the day. They even tucked into a special book‑themed lunch. Pupils have brought home a World Book Day voucher, which can be exchanged for a free book at participating retailers, including Warsop Library.

A special group of children (see below) were also selected, based on their exemplary reading behaviour, to visit Warsop Library today, where they had the chance to further celebrate their love of books.

For our 'Fun Friday' last week, EYFS had a fantastic junk-modelling day! The children worked in teams to create their very own robots. Each group used their imagination to design something unique and Robin Group even managed to make theirs move!

We all had lots of fun and cannot wait to create more designs in the upcoming weeks.

We’d like to give a very special mention to our own budding author, Ben, who has amazed us all with his creativity and imagination. Ben has written his own book and proudly came to school on World Book Day dressed as a character from his story. His classmates were absolutely captivated as he shared his writing with them and there’s already a real buzz of excitement as everyone looks forward to reading the sequel.

Well done, Ben - what a fantastic achievement! We can’t wait to see where your storytelling talent takes you next.

We are delighted to celebrate the children who have been awarded our Work Hard or Be Kind certificates recently. Each of these pupils has stood out for the way they consistently embody our school values - showing determination in their learning, offering help to others, and contributing to a positive and caring school community. Their efforts remind us all of the power of perseverance and kindness, and we are incredibly proud of the example they set for their peers. Well done to all our certificate winners!

We are pleased to celebrate last week’s top attenders: Robin Class and Nightingale Class, who shared first place with an outstanding commitment to being in school, learning together and making the most of every day. A special congratulations goes to the Nightingales, who have reigned supreme once again this week, showing fantastic consistency and dedication.

Thank you to all our pupils and families for continuing to prioritise good attendance. Every day in school truly makes a difference!

We are thrilled to share this week’s house point totals, reflecting the continued hard work, positive attitudes and kind choices shown by all our pupils. Every child contributes to their house total through our class recognition boards, helping to build a real sense of teamwork and pride across the school.

Sherwood – 1,012 points

Clumber – 995 points

Thoresby – 966 points

Rufford – 963 points

A huge well done to all pupils for their efforts so far - every point earned represents determination, kindness and commitment to our school values. Keep it up, everyone!

Celebrating Daisy's Achievements

Daisy set herself an inspiring challenge: to raise £100 for the MS Society to help support vital research into finding a cure for multiple sclerosis.

To reach her goal, she got creative - making and selling keychains, MS pin badges and bracelets. Her hard work and determination paid off!

We’re thrilled to share that Daisy didn’t just reach her target… she more than doubled it! Daisy has raised an amazing £215 so far - and with matched funding, that total becomes £430!

We are incredibly proud of her dedication and generosity. Well done, Daisy!

Daisy also took on an impressive challenge by attending a three‑day Rookie Lifeguard course, and we’re delighted to share that she passed and earned her official certification!

This is a fantastic accomplishment. Being able to swim is a valuable life skill, but learning how to save another person’s life, including performing CPR, shows real dedication, courage and maturity. Daisy is incredibly proud of her achievement, and rightly so - and we are all very proud of her too.

Well done, Daisy! Your hard work and determination are truly inspiring.
